The resort itself is built around a lagoon, so a pool villa in Hua Hin here does not mean cutting yourself off. The beach is a short walk through the gardens, the Little Birds Club runs a daily programme for children, and the water sports desk, fitness centre and rope park are all within the grounds. Kampu serves breakfast until late morning if you have had a slow start, and Baan Dum grills the day’s catch on the sand in the evening.

Second, whether you want the sea in front of you or a quieter garden setting: the Oceanfront villas open onto the beach, while the garden villas sit further back and are noticeably more private.

High season in Hua Hin runs from November to February, when the weather is dry and the evenings are cool. Villas are also busy across Thai long weekends and school holidays, so mid-week nights in May, June and September are the easiest to secure and the best priced.
